Job Description: As a business analyst in the Global Business Services Organization, your main responsibilities will be to develop solutions for intricate problems. The following skills are required: Data Collection · Be able to conduct stakeholder interviews, adapting questions as necessary throughout the conversation. · Review existing survey data; develop new surveys to fill in information gaps · Set and adjust priorities to define the real problem · Perform appropriate research and data collection · Assess information and sources to ensure data collected is relevant to the core issue. Identify issues or gaps and devise appropriate next steps Information Analysis: · Critical thinking skills are necessary to organize and analyze the data collected . · Possess the technical skills necessary to both understand the information and create the necessary format for analysis. · Be able to look at the data not only as it relates to the immediate problem, but also the potential long term impacts. · Ensure your analysis includes strategic impacts, ROI, cost/benefit. · Develop a business case that can be used to summarize the issue, methodology, proposed solution and predicted outcomes. Presentation Development · Must be able to communicate findings to sponsors and executives. · Must be able to synthesize research and analysis to present findings and influence stakeholders. Country Enablement – Building a Business Case for Brazilian Investment
As a Business Analyst in the GBS Country Enablement team, you have been asked by the executive team to build a new business case for investing in Brazil, elevating the local Cisco company capability to do more direct customer business, construct new business models, and provide for locally manufactured products for re-sale. You will be responsible for collaborating with local Brazilian sales leadership, reviewing country plans, sales forecasts, and local market issues, while working with leaders in Cisco Finance and Manufacturing to build the case for investment. You’ll then help shape the executive presentation on investment cost, return, and recommendations, while identifying the major risk elements and mitigation plans.

Connected Business Operations Excellence – Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst in the GBS Connected Business Operations Excellence team, you have been asked to run development for a tool that captures the financials for Cisco’s operational projects. Each year Cisco must decide which projects to fund with how much money. Having a central place to collect this financial information across the company is crucial for this planning process. As the planning process evolves, it will require changes to the way we capture financial data in this centralized tool. Your role will be to work with teams across the organization to gather their business requirements and define how these business requirements lead to financial tool changes. You will also work with the IT team to run software releases, making sure you provide IT with the proper requirements, ensuring that the tool meets the business need.

Business Intelligence Group – Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst in the GBS Business Intelligence group, you have been asked by the leadership team to be a project lead. The project assigned focuses on the different aspects of Cisco’s Channel Partner business- how Cisco partners register with the company, how Cisco organizes and structures partners in their Partner Database, and how Cisco maintains data quality. Specifically, your role will focus on observing and mitigating issues relating to partners in specific regions. Issues can cause serious problems such as the misallocation of bookings, the inability to report accurate sales numbers, and partners losing the capability to place orders. To fix these issues you will be responsible for creating and executing a 6-month plan of action that details the best approach to solve the problem at hand. During this time responsibilities will consist of communicating the plan of action to various teams across Cisco, meeting regularly with Cisco’s Channel Partner team in regions to coordinate implementation strategies, and initiating changes that would have lasting beneficial impact to Cisco both internally and externally with our Channel Partners.
